I'm finally at the home stretch of finishing off my website. I had to stop working on it for a while due to other commitments, so now I can get going again.

In my wiki/digital garden I have a collection of tutorials on webmentions including the basics — you can get up and running with only two lines of HTML! — using microformats to enrich your mentions; adding a webmention form; and parsing, displaying, and updating them with Eleventy, Netlify, and Bridgy.
Hope it can be helpful to someone!

#Netlify update again: Name.com customer support is saying they won't help me because my domain wasn't registered there, despite the Name.com reseller agreement saying "comply with ICANN and support your customers or else" and my email to support being "hey Netlify isn't complying with ICANN and supporting me".

This is such low stakes in terms of everything's shitty and all software is on its way to being bad for business, but dang.
#Netlify update: if you have a domain controlled by Netlify, turns out when you’re ready to leave, they will only let you transfer to an account at `Name.com, rather than the domain registrar of your choice. Doing so counts as a transfer under ICANN rules: no further transfer allowed for 60 days.
I am getting my remaining #11ty sites off Netlify ASAP.
@jwildeboer I added the records and now the domain is showing the homepage, however all other pages keep using netlify subdomain:
https://sustainabilityinthemaking.com/
when I click 'about' becomes:
https://sustainainabilityinthemaking.netlify.app/about/
Is it still something that needs to adjust or is something I need to set up somehow in Netlify?
Hello #Fediverse, I need some help!
I am moving a website from GitHub Pages to #Netlify . The domain is register via #Namecheap, and when I was looking to the documentation, it isn't clear to me how to set up the DNS (I don't want to transfer the domain to Netlify).
Any tips or instruction pages that I can use will be very much appreciated!

#11ty fans. I have an #builtwith11ty v3.0.0 site deployed on #netlify and I'm trying to speed up build times. I'm using incrementla builds and netlify-plugin-cache but still takes forever. My site is not large only 96 pages. Do you have any advice?
Initializing takes from: 11:47:01AM -- 11:47:23AM. 22.000s
Building takes from: 11:47:24 -- 11:47:47. 45.954s
Interesting.
"Netlify’s new Free plan joins Netlify’s other self-serve pricing plan options and is exactly what it says on the tin: free forever with no financial risk. On the Free plan, you can deploy commercial projects, personal sites, or other creative explorations you want to share on the web."
@kellysims @Luke Hah. I'm working to spin up a site on Ghost and hadn't occurred to me that they don’t store as static files.
@nazhamid You use #eleventy right? That's all on static files, no? How are you enjoying it? And I think you mentioned you were hosting it on #netlify as well?
Why I the web.
Someone built a Marble Madness
#WebGL game we for #Netlify.

It's fun! Try it out!

You can now build durable, multi-step Async Workloads on top of #Netlify Functions, which I am really excited about. You don’t have to do infra management for them, maintain the state, set up a queue, etc.
Also really useful for AI workloads that require multiple steps, deal with transient issues, and need to be durable.
read more and try them out: https://www.netlify.com/blog/launching-async-workloads/
I've had a sudden spike in bandwidth on my #Netlify account (that powers Cybercultural.com), and it's not correlated with an increase in traffic. i.e. a 10x increase in bandwidth usage over past 2 days, which has triggered an extra fee at Netlify. I have emailed their support, but has anyone else seen bandwidth spikes unrelated to page views on Netlify? Could this be some kind of spam attack, or an AI bot bashing my site??
@Haste forcibly transfer-out your domain and/or complain at the TLDs owner / RIR / regulators?
Also why tf do they want any ID??
Or do you really have a domain at one of the few ccTLDs that demand an ID at the registrar like .yt ???
Still, thanks for letting me know #Netlify are assholes so I'll never ever use them at all.
It is hard to recommend #Netlify to beginner website builders now, because the landing page is very corporate. But, it still serves me well for all my little ideas and projects.
Well, I finally found the Drop page again - though it's rather tucked away. I hope that doesn't mean it'll be gone soon.
So you can still drop stuff manually to upload to Netlify here:

If you're not sure about Netlify, try Yay.Boo:

.@zachleat said, I could add Lighthouse scores to my website. So I did.

Props to #Netlify for making the process super easy.
