Cassandrich<p>Heads up maintainers: there's a static analysis tool Svace, and perhaps some AI-slop tool built on top of it, producing very wrong analysis. So far <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/musl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>musl</span></a> has gotten 6 patch submissions based on it and they're all wrong and mostly unmotivated.</p><p>In one case it claimed possible null pointer dereference when the code in question was already immediately conditional on the pointer being non-null.</p><p>FWIW this is what Samsung uses to find and "fix" bugs in their fork of Android... 🤦</p>

The author is quite a character whose background was literally the "Occupy to fash pipeline", and it looks like the "slowness" is actually just cpu time spent in userspace opportunistically spinning, which is usually a good thing when your goal isn't "win stupid benchmarks".</p>

Properly. Passing all tests, properly. Booting my 2012 Ivy Bridge in 3.2 seconds, properly.</p><p>I'm aware of how unpopular this will be in some circles. But change does not happen without competition, and musl environments deserve more than what they have right now. systemd isn't a panacea, it isn't even that great, but it's here, it solves real issues people have, and it's now an option. Not a requirement, but an option.</p>
