A simple ‘41/42 east front scenario. The German team exposed a squad early and paid the price when some well placed HE hit them. Fortunes changed however, when the KV-1 bogged. The Russians then lost air cover. Germans have lost half a squad and a MG team. Light casualties for the Russians so far. Can the Germans hold the river? More skirmish wargaming with the senior students at lunch time. Bandits had to repair their Landcruiser by drawing 4 jokers from the deck so they could scarper…unfortunately their escape got thwarted by some well placed HMG fire that damaged the vehicle beyond repair. Still the game was much closer than expected - rockets & grenades a-flying- with the government side just winning by 2pts.. One of my better scenarios.

This means I can split the session into a senior and a junior group. Today’s session was an introductory session for some Yr 9&10 students we had a really nice & relaxed learning game with 3 boys and a girl playing a Second World War <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/fistfuloflead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fistfuloflead</a> game. There’s a lot of tactical considerations even in a simple game such as this and the students seem very engaged.

This Slap Dash LifeWIP. A change of tempo for me, modelling a Ribicon Soviet BTR-60 in 1/56. I love most aspects of wargaming…except modelling. The suspension and wheel stations on this model were a bit too fiddly for my fat fingers - and these Rubicon kits are considered to be pretty straightforward - so it’s going to really test my resolve.
