stfn<p>Haha, I just learned the hard way what does "Mikrotik License Level 3" mean.</p><p>I bought a used <em>deep breath</em> Mikrotik RB911G-5HPnD for 20zł (5 EUR) and wanted to make a simple home AP from it, just for fun. But I never travel without one of these <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MikroTik" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MikroTik</span></a> routers. I also travel with other larger dual band routers as well. But this baby beats everything else for size and weight for when trying to travel light. I’ve set the config to connect to the hotel WiFi (if unencrypted it auto connects to any SSID) and once any other device connects to its internal AP (with WPA2 AES) and authenticates on their portal the VPN to home auto-connects</p>

Bigger than that fragments. So, what should I do with this info?</p><p>My MTUs are 1500 on all my Routers, devices, laptops, etc. Should i set MTU to 1474 on devices that can (laptops, game consoles)? Will it make any difference? I might turn out to need another one entirely.. the <a href="https://zeroes.ca/tags/UniFi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>UniFi</span></a> community &amp; reddit posters seem to agree that not every SFP has the magic sauce of this one MicroTik SFP, the <a href="https://zeroes.ca/tags/MikroTik" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MikroTik</span></a> S+RJ10 - apparently it does something unusual and can talk #2.5GbE on the RJ45 side but 10 gigabit on the SFP side &amp; is expected to work. Nobody's said this ipolex one I got (which I got because it was cheap) was smart enough to do that. Theo Baschak :verified:<p>I made the mistake of upgrading a Mikrotik router running 7.7 to 7.8 without upgrading the extra packages that were installed on that router (like zerotier) and it wiped the zerotier section of config after it booted into the new OS.
