The Leaden Circle - Stone of Communion
"Four compositions to enhance occult experiences and aid in communing with the beyond,."
Here's a similar figure with better-preserved enamel from Thisted municipality in North Jutland. It was reported by a detectorist in 2019. Note how both saints hold their right hand on the upper abdomen in a pious gesture.
This saint figure is from a 13th century Limoges casket, an imported devotional object testifying to the wealth of Tune on Gotland at the time. Discovered during our fieldwork one week ago.

Having seen this famous English medieval instrument before, it was still a surprise to look more closely and see a dragon with green eyes forming part of its rich decoration on the peg box. Absolutely superb carving!
According to #Wikipedia, the #TarrSteps are form of construction called a #ClapperBridge and were originally built in #Medieval times but these are not the original stones as they have been damages and swept away several times in their history during storms and rebuilt, luckily in the same manner.

St Clether Well & Chapel, Cornwall
Built in C15 and restored by Sabine Baring-Gould in 1897. Water from the well runs in a channel through the chapel under the altar and exits on the opposite side.
'In this remote setting... chapel and well-house evoke perhaps more powerfully than anywhere in Cornwall a sense of the medieval religious landscape' (Beacham & Pevsner)
