I've had no complaints with my #mastodoninstance but have to admit I've thought about moving to somewhere that has a much more generous #characterlimit than 500. 2,000 would be a much better fit for the stuff I'd like to post and threads are not great in #mastodon - can anyone suggest somewhere with larger limit and bonus points if it's #softwareDevelopment #gaming #gayming or #lgbt / #queer instance?

Does anyone know about any type of philosophy or literature focused mastodon instance?
Those two are the things I would like to see daily. If there are none, I'll consider all the hashtags I should follow for this reason.

Okay, anyone be able to shed some like on what these stats mean on our instance #Sidekiq? I mean I get what processed is. But what is failed, busy, retries, scheduled, and dead? Are those figures the number of posts going out from our insurance or into? Or both?

It seems there's even some delay on my powerful instance, but only for some minutes or so. I'm deducing this based on the notification flood. Or then the issues are all round, not sure which way. @chrisg I totally agree with you. This is why I am so happy to have my own #MastodonInstance / #MastodonServer

I love that this is federated, and that I own this like I own my own site (as much as you can own a service when it runs on someone else's server infrastructure).

This way, I am not reliant on someone other than my hosting provider to keep my stuff going.

When I started using Mastodon a couple of weeks ago, it seemed thriving and lots of engagement. Notifications were unbelievable. The last few days that has almost disappeared. Engagement has gone down so much, and I hardly get notifications. Has something happened on mastodon.social that I’m not aware of. I’m not the only one to notice.

Putting this out there but looking to see if other admins of mastodon instances would like to come together and have a forum on discussing our grievances, complaints and suggestions.

Maybe this can be something where we all work together instead of all out instance wars...
