MichelleA little progress on the Studio Tunic! Everything is put together, French seams. I just need to hem it and finish the neck and arm holes. MichelleThe last of the 5$ second hand fabric was used to make a new couch bed for pup. Her previous bed (also homemade with thrift store fabric) was starting to get a little threadbare. This has one snap button that was repurposed from something else at the end of its life. Reuse. Repurpose. Recycle. The clasps and D ring came from a puppy carrier that didn't last and the material was a strap on a reusable bag with a short lifespan. Anything that breaks, if I can't repair it, I salvage whatever I can for future projects. <br> <br> Quite pleased with this! A quick and satisfying make! The other day I also made a big pillow, hemmed a blanket, and I sewed a headlamp onto my waist pack belt for an upcoming race. MichelleI had a few meters of this teal corduroy out on the kitchen table, sizing it up for two cushion covers to replace ones that have been loved to pieces, literally! Then I remembered that I had this meditation cushion cover that I had sewn a few years ago in storage! Too easy! Quickest project ever! Popped both cushions inside and pup promptly tested it! <br> <br> 17 meters of this <a href="https://pixelfed.de/discover/tags/ThriftStoreFind?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ThriftStoreFind</a> fabric! I have made a winter housecoat and a meditation cushion so far and still haven't used it up! <br> <br> As I had the sewing machine out anyway, I cleared my sewing mending pile! Woot! Yay me! I modified a shirt that had been in "I don't love it but I am not ready to part with it" storage!
