The latch is.</p><p>More troublesome is "The carrier service door must operate freely and solely by pulling outward and downward <br>with a convenient handle or knob."</p><p>Aside from that i think could likely make it work (capacity, safety, inner/outer dimensions, weatherproof, security)</p><p>Rather than work that hard to modify a microwave though i figure I'll keep our existing mailbox as is. Still planning on safely disassembling our failing microwave and mounting it in the front yard. Maybe as a "free library" or something.</p><p>In related news, I'm annoyed that i legit read through the entire USPS-STD-7C standard for United States Postal Service Residential mailboxes. <a href="https://c.im/tags/USPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>USPS</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Mail" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mail</span></a>? Steve's Place<p>So I'll run a bot to fetch mail data (not messages) every few minutes. Could make it so that only happens if the mail page loaded recently. Sorting is done locally, without a fetch. I'll add a button to refresh, or it refreshes on page load. I have to reformat date stamps because there is no telling what format is used, even from the same source. I'll use somebody's micro-editor for composing/replying to mail.
