trashHeap :hehim: :verified_gay:Im going to sing the praises of <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Mageia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Mageia</a> a second. A linux distro which doesn't get a lot of love.It supports all the major desktop environments. though I think it is most well known for shipping <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#KDE</a>.It's one of a handful of distros that lets you pair down your pre-installed apps if needed. AND I always prefer to start from a minimal KDE and build up.It's a stable release, that just "feels" rock stable while your using it. AND in practice it's about on par with Debian both in release model and stability.It's RPM based and still ships the old-style mandrake urpm* tools for package management. Which I find quite fun to use? But DNF is there if you need it.It has a lot of the old <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MandrakeLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MandrakeLinux</a> desktop niceties still kicking around. Not unlike OpenSuse's YAST in that regard. It's one of the rare distros where I dont feel like I need to touch the bootsplash or the default login manager theme.It generally is the distro lately I keep coming back to, after any period of wanderlust. <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#linux</a>

LazerdudeGot my desktop in a pretty nice looking state now! Here is the result + obligatory neofetch output :) Theme is a customized Oxygen with the color scheme from Ia Ora, taskbar is a modification of Air with dark icons. I aimed for a KDE4 look that is like a modernized Mandriva. The system is Mageia Cauldron, running KDE Plasma 6.0rc1 in a Wayland session!
