obrhoff<p>I’m looking to store sensitive data, such as API keys or user tokens, in a secure manner. Naturally, I assumed the Keychain would be the right place for this. However, I’d prefer that these items not appear in the Keychain Access app.</p><p>Would setting kSecAttrIsInvisible be the correct approach, or is there a better alternative?<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indiedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indiedev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/iosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swift</span></a></p>

obrhoff<p>Is it only me or is a typical NavigationStack on macOS really that bad? It just accumulates more and more memory, which is really bad for an app that could endlessly go deep into a navigation structure.</p><p>I moved now to a custom Navigation Stack that basically recreated the screens by a representation of an Enum and so far I can keep my app pretty low on memory.<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swiftui" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swiftui</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swift</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indiedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indiedev</span></a></p>

obrhoff<p>Indeed the issue got resolved with macOS26.</p><p>Okay next thing. Why is this not animating? obrhoff<p>WIP Playlist Editing. I'm not sure if I should reboot my UI design with Liquid Glass since I'm not that big of a fan. obrhoff<p>After moving to Apple Music, I really miss Spotify Playlists. obrhoff<p>What really sucks right now is that SwiftUI does not come with an NSMenu replacement.</p><p>Basically, I want to display a Context Menu if I click on a button like on iOS if you use a Menu. </p><p>On macOS, it displays you a god damn Drop down menu which is a totally different UX pattern.<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swiftui" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swiftui</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indiedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indiedev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/applemusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>applemusic</span></a></p>
obrhoff<p>Dissatisfied with the standard outline view and the lack of customizability, I implemented my own. So far, so good.<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swiftui" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swiftui</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indiedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indiedev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/applemusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>applemusic</span></a></p>
obrhoff<p>SwiftUI gurus.</p><p>How to make the shuffling of this code fast on macOS? It performs without a problem under iOS, but macOS is blocking the main thread for a long time.</p><p>I think it’s the underlying NSOutlineView that moves Views around. From what I can see, the only workaround is to totally invalidate the View with a different ID.</p><p>Were the haters right about SwiftUI? 😭<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/iosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swift</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swiftui" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swiftui</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/indiedev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>indiedev</span></a></p>

obrhoff<p>Well, I guess native mobile apps are going to become the minority (of die out). It might have to do with a user-unfriendly language like Swift that asks you to have a PhD to draw a Table View.<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/iosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/swift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>swift</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosdev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/apple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apple</span></a></p>
