Mario Alberto Guzmán<p>OMG I FOUND THE MOST HILARIOUS BUG IN MACOS AND PODCASTS APP... </p><p>1. First, I should NEVER be able to make a window this narrow in macOS app. You need a min width/height set for your app. How was this overlooked? Mac is 3rd class citizen at Apple it seems.</p><p>2. If you get it at this narrow width, you can no longer get it back to normal size. It's suck.</p><p>3. Quit and relaunch you say? Nope, app crashes upon relaunching now every time. See 2nd toot for this.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOS</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOSSequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSSequoia</span></a></p>
Steve Riggins<p>So this is cool in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOSSequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSSequoia</span></a> I’m on my Mac, deleting large videos from Messages via the Storage settings, and I am searching in Photos to make sure I have them there as well. If I search for “Dancing” it finds videos with dancing in them, but it also moves the playhead to where it thinks the dancing actually starts.</p>
Steve Riggins<p>Ah it's just Finder BS magic. I really dislike magic. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOSSequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSSequoia</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macosx" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macosx</span></a></p>

I was diving into the assets and noticed a number of .program files, which I haven't seen before. troz<p>In macOS Sequoia, Apple has continued along the path of locking down the Mac. Running an app that has not been signed and notarised by a registered developer is now even more difficult. </p><p>In this article, I walk through what this means and how you can work around it. </p><p><a href="https://troz.net/post/2024/sequoia_app_permissions/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">troz.net/post/2024/sequoia_app</span><span class="invisible">_permissions/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOSSequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSSequoia</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOS</span></a></p>
David Gian-Cursio<p>Well, that sucks. I just realized that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/macOSSequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSSequoia</span></a> removed the hidden option to rate songs by the half-star in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/iTunes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>iTunes</span></a>/ <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AppleMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AppleMusic</span></a> from certain view modes.I used that. A lot.</p><p>But, apparently, I was the only one, since I seem to be the first person who has noticed. This is the third major bug or issue I've found in the Sequoia version of Music.app in, what's it been, two weeks?</p><p>(Custom stop-times for tracks no longer work, and you can't play tracks directly off an audio CD, only rip them)</p>

David Chartier<p>Ok what is with more <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/Mac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mac</span></a> apps asking for permission to scan the local network to check for other apps and collect data? Is this a <a href="https://toot.cafe/tags/macOSsequoia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>macOSsequoia</span></a> thing?</p><p>With some apps it kiiiinda makes sense, like Things 3 trying to sync your tasks faster. Thomas Reed<p>For those of you following the whole "macOS Sequoia firewall conflicting with security tools" thing, I'm curious whether anyone has seen any reporting that identifies how to reproduce it.
