Pixel is the smallest dragon<p>Electronics Faire at Temple was full of tiny delights. It was super cool learning about the history of BASIC games to bring coding to the people with <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://merveilles.town/@exquisitecorp" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>exquisitecorp</span></a></span> and the history of other networks with an emphasis on arts and play with <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://post.lurk.org/@loriemerson" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>loriemerson</span></a></span>. The day ended with some atmospheric and intimate low db performances. The first one was by i &lt;3 files (Clara Venice &amp; Zsofi Valyi-Nagy) who were sending us electronic care waves with a commentary on sexism in the electronic music industry. There should hopefully be a recording soon! <a href="https://iheartfiles.studio/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">iheartfiles.studio/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Temple also has some popping food trucks. <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://post.lurk.org/@iffybooks" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>iffybooks</span></a></span> and I grabbed vegan falafel and crepes respectively for lunch. This was the perfect place to test it out. Pixel is the smallest dragon<p>Tomorrow is the 2nd day of the Electronic Faire at Temple University! During the "sit and tinker faire", I plan to work on my personal website in HTML: Adding 88 x 31 buttons, a robots.txt page, and projects. I might also work on transcribing my dream journal into markdown files. Feel free to join me in that! I'm happy to chat about Iffy Books, the Philadelphia Mycology Club, and using the Air Gradient. You can find me wearing a SEPTA hat, mask, and pin that says "pixel" on it.</p><p>I'll also be attending <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://merveilles.town/@exquisitecorp" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>exquisitecorp</span></a></span>'s workshop "Programming a BASIC Game with Lee Tusman". Coach Spore Diesel<p>Today is the day I'm supposed to have a foundation installed for my tiny house. I've moved all the things outdoors that were around the house. ordinoides<p>Today I used my solar oven(s) for the first time this year, beating my previous record by about 2 weeks! Air temp outside ranged from 25F to 42F (-3C-5C). Inside the oven the temp reached 180F (82C)<br>My box oven was joined by a folding panel cooker, design is called the Copenhagen Cooker, it's very effective and easy to make, but more vulnerable to wind. <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Solar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Solar</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/SolarCooking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SolarCooking</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/LowTech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LowTech</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/SolarOven" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SolarOven</span></a></p>

Fernando Racimo<p>The second session of our 3-year Study Circle on Degrowth &amp; Exnovation is now open to all for registration! Join us in Finland to explore and discuss how to build resilient communities in the midst of collapse, while dismantling the fossil capitalist economy.</p><p><a href="https://www.nsuweb.org/circle-9-degrowth-and-exnovation/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">nsuweb.org/circle-9-degrowth-a</span><span class="invisible">nd-exnovation/</span></a></p><p>How are people organizing locally along degrowth principles of sufficiency and conviviality? What challenges do we face, and what tactics can we pursue in establishing ways of living that allow dismantling of harmful organizations, infrastructure, technologies and ideas, that contribute to extractivism and fossil capitalism?</p><p>Suggested themes of discussion include initiatives for convivial community-based leisure (let's turn airports into natural recreation areas!), paths towards nowtopias, municipal organizing, neo-ruralism, defense of the commons, convivial conservation, unlearning high-tech and promoting low-tech, among many others.</p><p>The session will be part of the Nordic Summer University's summer session, including 8 concurrent study circles on other super-cool topics, which you can also attend: <a href="https://www.nsuweb.org/activities/summer-session/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">nsuweb.org/activities/summer-s</span><span class="invisible">ession/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Degrowth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Degrowth</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Sufficiency" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Sufficiency</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Conviviality" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Conviviality</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Exnovation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Exnovation</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Postgrowth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Postgrowth</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Finland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Finland</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Conservation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Conservation</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Community" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Community</span></a> <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/LowTech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LowTech</span></a></p>
