Patioboater<p>Took a drive up Prospect Mountain today to enjoy the view at the summit. Caught this great view of The Narrows of Lake George along the way. The lake stretches 32 miles north through a glacier-carved valley in the Eastern Adirondacks. You can really see its geology here.</p><p>Saturday, Sept. 30. Lake George, New York.<br>

Minor Heretic<p>I'd like to write a bit about one of the more interesting historic places in my area. It's what was known in the 18th c and before as the "Great Carrying Place." It's the rhomboid area roughly defined by Glens Falls NY, Lake George village, <a href="https://archaeo.social/tags/Ticonderoga" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ticonderoga</span></a>, and Whitehall. It's the gap between Lake Champlain and the Hudson River.
