Devin Prater :blind:
Okay so one thing about Linux I absolutely love. So, you know how in Windows, your cursor is always pointing to the letter to the left of what your screen reader says, so that you backspace the thing to the left of what it says? Well, Linux works a little more like the Mac. If you move by word, it works like the mac, where you can be before or after the word. So, if I press Control + Left arrow right now, with the text "now," with a comma after the w, it said "now," with the cursor on N, so if I backspace, it deletes the space before the N. But if I Control + Right arrow, it puts the cursor after the comma, so that if I backspace, it deletes the comma after the W.

Now, if I use arrows by themselves, it moves letter by letter, and acts just like windows. I really like this because if I select a word, it only selects the word, and not the space after the word, like stupid Windows does. I hate that so much! Now, this also means that it will select the punctuation after words too, so do be careful still. But a word is a word, not a word and the space afterwards, and selecting still follows the same rules of selecting movement just like Windows, but with its own way of moving throughout words. I'm sure I didn't explain this well enough, sorry.

#Linux #foss #accessibility #keyboardnavigation #blind
