The Late Night Linux Family<p>The sad reality of the AI crawler bot arms race, the baddies seem to be obsessed with Xorg, but Wayland will soon be a reality for older smaller desktops (hopefully). I didn't notice this until now, but I see that every instance of every app running in <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/KDEPlasma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KDEPlasma</span></a> is a (temporary) <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/systemd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>systemd</span></a> service. Systemd is supervising the entire session.</p><p>What a strange design. I wonder why they did this? What does systemd do that's useful for supervising the apps in a desktop session?</p>

That being said, IIRC it's happened with the application launcher too, tho that works for me atm, but KRunner almost always fails to launch it - only the app icon appears to be loading on the dock/panel, then it disappears.<br><br>When it does happen, journalctl would report this error:<br></span></p><pre><code>ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'libvirt'</code></pre><p></p>

Bugs are _really_ minor. Signal crashes sometimes when opening the screencast portal and I got the top left corner of my screen unusable once after a Windows game crashing under Wine. Beside that, everything is flawless. Most of I do in Qt Creator, Floorp, Signal, Alacritty, virtmanager/boxes, FL Studio and Wine/Proton. I was an user of Wayland before but went back to X to use <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/budgiedesktop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>budgiedesktop</span></a>.</p>
Linh Pham<p>Just checked my secondary laptop and it's working just fine.
