It's been one of THOSE weeks, so far, and I guess I'm just getting a little punchy.

What is your favorite #digital keyboard to keyboard mode for actual conversation?

YouTubers push #js8call but it seems like heartbeats, grid calls, and little else in actual practice. Oddly my #CQ calls get ignored, even through I can reach half the US or more on #40m fairly reliably. Also, other people call CQ only to ignore direct messages.

I'm confused and a bit sad because JS8 has a lot of potential. Some have suggested #Olivia but I know nothing about it.

Saw a callsign on #JS8Call a bit ago.

It started with a "W".

It ended with "DUI".

Here in Minnesota, anyway, I would never get a callsign vanity plate with that callsign.

See, here, if you get too many DUIs, they might make you put a "whiskey plate" on your car, so named because it starts with "W" and indicates to cops they can pull you over anytime to verify you're driving straight to work, or straight home (or something like that).

The issue will not be public until it is accepted."

He just now reported this: "Just to let you know: this issue was deleted (not replied to or solved)...So the developers are probably happy having AMRRON hard coded into js8call"

Hi folks! By way of the #introductions tag, I'm a #general class ham in the Washington DC area. I work my IC7300 off a MFJ 10-40 #EFHW and Z100plus tuner. I have some of the absolute worst mic shyness on the planet so I tend to stick to #FT8 and #JS8call, though sometimes I venture outside at obscene hours to wave my #yagi antenna at the sky and talk through a #satellite.
