I need help. I’ve been away from Mastodon a few days, and when I came back, my home feed is longer showing posts from followed hashtags. Only posts from my followed users appear now.

I can’t find anything in the settings to fix this. Whatever it is, I need an answer, as my feed feels desolate without new posts to discover.

Then again, who knows if anyone will hear this plea if non-followed users can’t see this post.

Day 26 cont 🏡🏘️🏘️🏘️🏠🏠🏚️

“The #HousingCrisis has dominated the #FederalElection campaign, and all sides of politics have desperately tried to #harness or #neutralise it as an #issue.

An analysis by The #AFR of nearly 25,000 data points compiled by research firm Cotality, formerly #CoreLogic, reveals how the property market is playing out at an electorate-by-electorate level, and what this means for #voters – both at the #election on May 3 and into the future”

Oh yay, would you look at that, another “use” for AI: looks like at least my repos on @Codeberg are getting hit by a deluge of AI-generated issue spam.

Imagine the kind of sad, meaningless life you must have to attack free and open source projects on a community owned and operated source forge.

So it does look like the TypeScript language server has a limit of 4MB source size where it disables type checking (and actually shows an erroneous error stating that exports that exist in the file do not exist) for files that are imported but not open in the current workspace/session.

Still not sure if this is documented anywhere or not (haven’t been able to find it, if it is).

99.99999% of the time, unless you’re doing niche stuff like I am, you won’t run into this.

Workaround: should you have such a large file, e.g., with a large generated object, try and refactor to split it up into multiple files and rejoin it a separate file. The actual object size/memory usage isn’t the issue, it’s the file size.

Anyone know someone at #JetBrains to report a #PyCharm #issue to?

Basically it's a #softlocking that happens on the #snap version of #PyCharmCommunity / #PyCharmCE that makes it somehow half-forget #credentials like #GitHub, #Gitlab, #Codeberg, #BitBucket, #Gitea, #git etc. and not allowing to just delete & re-add them as the settings saving just becomes unresponsive.

  • Mind you this isn't with like dozens of accounts - just one on each platform - and it's not easily fixable (or at least not in a good way by manually yeeting the #XML files for said logins from $HOME/.config/PyCharmCE****/... and randomly coming back after a few days or weeks.

Whether this also conflicts with #SettingsSync which should only sync #configs, not #credentials (and AFAICT doesn't!) is also a question I can't confidently answer.

  • Needless to say it's really annoying, espechally at work and is the main reason I've not considered paying for JetBrains' products as of now!

🔥At least half of #Republican voters in #Arizona and #Nevada say they would
✅ vote for ballot initiatives this November that #protect #abortion #access, according to a pair of Fox News polls released Wednesday.

♦️Fifty percent of Republicans in Arizona,
♦️and 54 percent of Republicans in Nevada
say they would vote for their states’ proposed constitutional amendments to
“establish the right to an abortion up until fetal viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health,”
according to the polls, which were conducted on Aug. 23-26, 2024.

The initiatives are broadly supported in both key battleground states, and across demographics groups.

Overall, 73 percent of Arizona voters say they back the proposed state amendment, including
🔸95 percent of #Democrats and
🔸76 percent of #independents.

The amendment is backed by
96 percent of self-described #liberals,
81 percent of self-described “#moderates” and
52 percent of self-described “#conservatives.”

The only Arizona demographic with less than 50 percent backing the initiative is “#white #evangelicals,”
49 percent of whom support the amendment.

Even among those who “strongly disapprove” of President Biden,
51 percent support the initiative.

⭐️Similar trends are evident in #Nevada.

Overall,
75 percent of Nevada voters back the ballot initiative, including
95 percent of #Democrats and
76 percent of #independents.

Nearly all (96 percent) of the #liberal voters back the initiative,
as do 81 percent of #moderates and
57 percent of #conservatives.

A majority (58 percent) of #white #evangelical voters in Nevada back the initiative,
as do 54 percent of those who “strongly disapprove” of Biden.

The polls come as Democrats hope abortion remains a #top #issue for voters, who say they largely trust the Democratic party on the issue more than they do the Republicans.
