That said, I never went looking to the source, that is Meta's definition of "hateful conduct". Dave Rahardja<p>A small group of friends and I had a little discussion today as to whether someone who vocally supports Trump should be welcome in a community primarily focused on solidarity and unionization.</p><p>While it’s true that “If everyone agrees with me, my <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/union" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>union</span></a> is too small”, I think there is a line to be drawn when someone openly promotes a political leader who promotes intolerance. Karl Popper’s Paradox of Intolerance and Yonatan Zunger’s framing of tolerance as a peace treaty both say that intolerance should be a disqualifying trait in a tolerant society. Does support for an intolerant leader make you also intolerant? It certainly creates a threatening atmosphere for people who belong to targeted groups.</p><p>Some argue that the community should be a big tent that welcomes all as long as unionization succeeds, despite their support for intolerance. Me? I don’t want a Nazi bar, even if Nazis make great cocktails.</p><p>What do you think? MountainWitch ⛤:flag_bisexual:<p>The big insult from the right wing these days is the mocking intonation of “I thought you were the “tolerant left” when ever anyone stands up to bigotry and other forms of online hate speech. Welp.
