Shantell Powell<p>Several years ago, for reasons I cannot comprehend, a local person began harrassing me on FB, accusing me of being a pedophile. I blocked them and put the whole upsetting experience behind me. Then, during lockdown, I was on a zoom call hosted by a local organization and realized that this awful person was one of the folks on the call. I immediately left the meeting and sent a letter to the organizer saying that someone who’d been harrassing me was on the call and I did not feel safe there. They never responded, and I can’t help but wonder if that person noticed I was there and started lying about me to everyone there. Ugh. </p><p>I’ve had to deal with so much traumatic harassment on social media. I don’t know how kids deal with it these days. I was bullied horrendously throughout my childhood and it’s only because of my resilience that I survived adolescence.
