Google, for the first time, inked an agreement to purchase geothermal energy for its facilities in Asia. The deal also marks the first geothermal power purchase agreement for Taiwan, according to the company. @theverge reports:

J'ai failli terminer la rando en t-shirt (0 vent, 3-4 C°). Observation d'une grande source d''eau chaude (100 C° dans le bassin bouillonnant et environ 40 quand elle s'écoule par des petits ruisseaux) et détection d'un secteur pour cet été via le tour de crête d'un massif de 600m d'altitude avec vue totale sur l'océan d'un côté et de plusieurs systèmes volcaniques/Hafnafjorður de l'autre.

Et là, la péninsule aura été platinée ! :yotsuba_pleased:

Vue générale de la source d'eau chaude depuis le sommet d'un promontoire. La colonne de vapeur se dresse dans un ciel où il n'y a quasiment pas de vent. Le soleil brille au milieu. Le ciel est légèrement couvert de nuages au fond à gauche.
Une petite cavité boueuse d'où s'échappe de l'eau bouillante. On voit une grosse bulle grise qui éclate tandis qu'une autre derrière est arrivée "à maturité". Derrière, une étendue d'eau chaude recouverte par la vapeur qu'elle dégage. La terre en bordure est ocre brun clair, gris, et brun-orangé.
Le massif du Geitahlið partiellement enneigé. Le soleil est légèrement masqué par un nuage.
Un gros doigt (les adeptes de la manucure auront évidemment bien des avis à me soumettre pour entretenir mes ongles) indique ma position d'où a été prise la photo précédente : Gullbringa (310m alt). En bas de mon doigt à gauche, le sommet à gravir cet été : Geitahlið (385m alt) puis on remonte les crêtes vers la droite pour terminer au sommet du Syðstubollar (613 m alt) non loin du trait fluo rose dans l'angle supérieur gauche. Au-dessus de mon doigt, le grand lac Kleifarvatn avec la route 42 qui le longe (trait rouge). Tout ce qui est en vert fluo dit que ces zones ont été faites mais je n'ai pas mis à jour ma carte depuis presque deux ans (plusieurs points en rose fluo ont été fait depuis)...

Ooooh. And I just found some articles about making #WindTurbines more #wildlife friendly (especially birds and bats, who are unfortunately affected). I'll be posting about those for #SolarPunkSunday. My vision of a #SolarPunk world involves #RenewableEnergy technologies that are safe for the environment, wildlife and humans. Some are location specific. Got hot springs? #Geothermal!
