Lalo Martins<p>Here's my <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a> post, a month and a half later, but sorry, I wasn't sure who I was back then.</p><p>I'm a <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/NonBinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonBinary</span></a> middle-aged <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/GameDesigner" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GameDesigner</span></a> who doesn't particularly belong anywhere. I'm living in <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/Japan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Japan</span></a> since January 2023, having lived in Brazil, China, Germany, and Estonia.</p><p>I learned to code in order to prototype my game ideas, and somehow one thing led to another and I ended up with a decades-long <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/WebDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WebDev</span></a> career. Still don't see myself as a ‘web guy’ (or gal) though. Game development tools are abysmally lagging behind in many ways, but still give me <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/Unreal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Unreal</span></a> over React or <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/Godot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Godot</span></a> over Express any day.</p><p>Also long-time <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/Agile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Agile</span></a> advocate, I'm an expired CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) and agile coach, former co-founder now disillusioned with the idea of startups as a whole.</p><p>Now I'm working on my own game, and paying the bills with <a href="https://peoplemaking.games/tags/VR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VR</span></a> or web work.</p><p>I have a lot of opinions, many weird, and went through… stuff. If there's a 90% chance I'll offend and 10% chance I'll make lives better, I'll probably say it.</p>
