Amsterdam_XXXArtist Steffen Maas made a mosaic portrait of the legendary Nelson Mandela at the corner of Krugerplein and Pretoriusstraat (also called “De Krugerkop”). 🇿🇦🙌<br>

The mosaic was constructed from hundreds of wooden shields with South African patterns in 2014. It emerged from the collaboration between residents from the Transvaal buurt, among others. The mosaic was intended to confirm or emphasize the neighborhood's connection with South Africa. 🤝<br>
