Posting this again because while it's an outrage that tax dollars may have been spent this way it appeals to me that the fools who did it would spend the rest of their days living underground in each other's company with all their wealth only on paper. Think if this kind of wastage was, instead, directed at solving problems that are considered too expensive (unprofitable) to fix.

Yahoo News · Bush official claims US built secret $21T underground ‘city’ for rich and powerful to live if ‘near-extinction event’ happensBy Alex Oliveira

Nothing is #inevitable. #Fascists portray themselves as an unstoppable force of nature to discourage resistance. This narrative is flawed because it ignores the dynamic nature of #society & deprives a lot of people of their agency. #History shows that concerted efforts can overcome #oppresive #regimes and ideas. By ejecting #fatalism and embracing our agency, we affirm that change is always possible, resistance is both meaningful and above all necessary. Hate is a choice, not inevitability.

“These [need-for-chaos] individuals are not idealists seeking to tear down the established order so that they can build a better #society for everyone,” the authors wrote in their conclusion. “Rather, they indiscriminately share #hostile #political rumors as a way to unleash #chaos & mobilize individuals against the established order that fails to accord them the respect that *they feel* they personally *deserve*.”

Is there "hope"?
Yes, there is. It can be found in your #climate action.

"Youra has advice for those who are suffering from the same sort of #fatalism that he once felt. “Stop engaging excessively with negative #ClimateChange content online and start engaging in your #community,” he said. “You can be one of those voices showing there is support for the #solutions.” "
