More women than men study at university."</p><p>Guess what I answered and they said was correct.</p><p>Did you know?! <br>The UK Home Office (or maybe the DWP? Idfk) recorded my fingerprints before I could get my Biometric Residence Permit. <br>No notice that this would happen; my employer told me when they called to explain why they couldn't pay me or offer more shifts. <br>They didn't already have my fingerprints because I have never intentionally broken a law. <br>They stopped my employer from giving me any more shifts at uni until I paid £130 I didn't have for the privilege. Shantell Powell<p>To all those folks from the US who say they want to emigrate to Canada, please be advised Canada isn't the nice place that its PR makes it out to be. </p><p>Ontario and Alberta are ruled over by Trump-types, and if there were to be an election now, the Conservatives are likely to win by a landslide. The Conservative guy who wants to be Prime Minister is a horrible person. </p><p>Canada is racist as fuck. The Indian Act is possibly the most racist piece of legislature in the world. The Proud Boys got up to speed by harassing the local LandBack camp. There's not as much murder by guns here, but there sure is a lot of racial violence. Canada has a bit of apartheid going on with regards to law. Indigenous folks do not get the same sort of legal rights as white folks. And there are an awful lot of brown people who get murdered by cops. </p><p>It sucks to be disabled in Canada. The benefits received by disabled people are nowhere near enough to live on, and it's getting harder and harder to get decent medical care. Wait lists for doctors are years long with no end in sight. </p><p>I think it might be safer for trans folks here, but honestly, I don't know how long that will last if/when the Conservatives get in power. </p><p>I'd love to have cool, friendly new neighbours.
