Emeritus Prof Christopher May<p>So one week in &amp; already the number of <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/driverless" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>driverless</span></a> taxis in <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/SanFranciso" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SanFranciso</span></a> has been halved after a taxi collided with an emergency vehicle &amp; the taxi passenger had to be taken to hospital.</p><p>The (temporary) reduction will last until an investigation determines how the crash happened &amp; the City has had some reassurance about safety measures.</p><p>Optimists will say look at the early history of the railways... this is just a blip;</p><p>Pessimists will be leaning back to say 'told you so'.</p>
