Sarah G. Carpenter, Ph.D.<p>There's nothing particularly difficult about BDs, but then that's kind of why I need a lot of caffeine to tackle them. <br>The much harder part, for a lot of people &amp; from my <a href="https://me.dm/tags/NotALawyer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NotALawyer</span></a> perspective, is making sure that:<br>1. the right kinds of accounts exist <br>2. they have all the $$ you want to transfer in them<br>3. the BDs are locked down </p><p>The hard part FOR ME is prolly going to be turning this info into several hundred words of prose. <a href="https://me.dm/tags/drcworkday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>drcworkday</span></a></p>
Sarah G. Carpenter, Ph.D.<p>I have decided to "liveblog" my workday for no particular reason. You can mute "<a href="https://me.dm/tags/drcworkday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>drcworkday</span></a> to avoid these posts &amp; still see news boosts, etc. </p><p>We're starting out w/an article on <a href="https://me.dm/tags/BeneficiaryDesignations" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BeneficiaryDesignations</span></a> that convinces me I haven't had enough caffeine. </p><p>Basically, the way BDs work is: You go to all your accounts that can be readily transferred outside of a <a href="https://me.dm/tags/LastWillAndTestament" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LastWillAndTestament</span></a> &amp; you name somebody to automatically get their contents when you die. Handy.</p>
