Kiki🇺🇸: The dovetail butterfly (Papilio machaon) is a butterfly in the swallowtail family (Papilionidae). Along with the scarce swallowtail, it is one of the largest and most conspicuous butterflies in German-speaking countries, with a wingspan of 50 to 75 millimeters. It lives in one to three generations in sunny, open areas, such as poor grasslands and dry grasslands. The range extends across large parts of the Northern Hemisphere, from Europe to Asia and Japan.<br> <br> 🇩🇪: Der Schwalbenschwanz (Papilio machaon) ist ein Schmetterling aus der Familie der Ritterfalter (Papilionidae). Der Schwalbenschwanz ist neben dem Segelfalter einer der größten und auffälligsten Tagfalter des deutschsprachigen Raums und hat eine Flügelspannweite von 50 bis 75 Millimetern. Er lebt in ein bis drei Generationen in sonnigem und offenem Gelände, wie z. B. mageren Grünlandbeständen und auf Trockenrasen.
