Thank you. Interesting to see big multinationals like 3M, and to a lesser degree Uber, in there. I'm always happy to vote with my wallet.

Also please note that the laws you don't like were written by the clowns you collectively elected. If you succeed in taking a prosecutory action against any of those clowns, the case will be decided by the twelve of you that can't talk your way out of jury duty.
I attended this meeting with my middle-school kid, who (with two classmates) gave public comment in support of a policy order requesting the #MBTA incorporate green & gray infrastructure in the Alewife garage redevelopment project, to help eliminate untreated sewage overflow into the Alewife Brook watershed and surrounding neighborhoods. The Alewife Brook combined sewer overflow release problem was the focus of their #civics project, and I'm proud of them for carrying it out of the classroom and into local government.
(We left city hall near the end of the public comment period, which was smart, because the meeting lasted until almost midnight, including over an hour behind closed doors to discuss the Lubavitch lawsuit against the city zoning board.)
Even if you don't have kids in school yourself, even if you don't have kids at all, it's more than worthwhile to attend your local school board meetings. https://hartmannreport.com/p/chapter-7-why-public-schools-are?r=1rtvr5&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false
The kids in school right now are going to be running things in a few years. They need to be literate and definitely not indoctrinated by the xtian nationalists.

Lithuanian 16-year-olds may be allowed to vote under a new legislative proposal.
More than 100 members of the 141-seat Lithuanian parliament, Seimas, have proposed a constitutional amendment that would allow 16-year-olds to vote in municipal elections for mayors and local councils.
The authors of the amendment say the change would encourage greater political participation among young people.
Unfinished business
"A shameful death after a supermarket scuffle shines a light on Australia’s unfinished business. From compensation for the Stolen Generations to Indigenous recognition, Australia must follow words with actions."
"There is unfinished business in this country, and there can be no excuses for not knowing or understanding. We need to change direction and remove the burden from the most vulnerable."
"In a land of home improvers surely the principle of fixing the foundations first if you want to really close the gaps is obvious."

If I'm understanding this correctly, @harvard.edu is making its #government AKA #civics courses available for anyone and everyone, so we can learn why the #Republican Party is an existential threat to our nation since it has become infected and infested with #MAGA and #Trumpism.

#Harvard is offering free online courses in government, social sciences, humanities, and the arts:
• U.S. constitutional democracy
• civic engagement
• political philosophy
• elections
• public policy
• the media environment
• and more
The "will of Americans" lacks the #civics necessary to stop #Republicans from breaking nearly every Government process, laughing as they lie about tax breaks.
"The will of Americans" has nothing to do with the law.

This has probably been making the rounds on Mastodon, but dropping here so I can pin: Free U.S. civics courses at Harvard. (Some do require tuition, but most are free for timely reasons.)
I don’t like these SNOPES people but I had to click on this & they claim this is a fact. These poor kids are going to end up ignorant and paranoid and this is the opposite of teaching #civics.

What happens when good intentions go wrong? This preserved 1976 filmstrip follows Prince Hubert and the Lollipop Dragon in a story about respecting other people's choices and civic responsibility.
When the prince paints the entire town his favorite colors without asking, the Lollipop Dragon helps him understand why consent and individual preferences matter just as much as his own.

Rule of Law Threatened
“Roberts laid blame at the feet of schools..failing to provide adequate civics education..His point is well taken, but there are roughly 1,770 federal judges across the country, & the judiciary is well-resourced. ..he should direct federal judges to get out in their communities and speak with students instead of blaming America’s struggling public schools.”

I just attended a Moms Demand Action Hour and found out about a great resource for info about bills on any issue.
Without signing up or anything, I was able to very quickly find out how everyone on a state Assembly committee voted on a particular bill.
There is info on bills in Congress and in every state.
Also, info on the legislative process/definition of terms, governors' roles in signing or not, how soon bills become effective, etc.
