Talia HussainI'm looking at a post on LinkedIn in which a white European is plugging <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/circularEconomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#circularEconomy</a> for textiles in Kenya with photos showing a bunch of other white people and... it occurs to me that the circular economy might just be quite colonial, extractive and racist.... Perhaps another spicy paper for me to write(the last one, published 5 weeks ago got some press attention and has passed 500 downloads :)

I’m sure more is on its way in NSW and other jurisdictions will soon follow (if not already ahead of the game).However, just like our little composting bins from our councils, a new service needs to be implemented to collect spent batteries (of all types) from the consumer. It seems that battery collection points in stores or shopping centres is insufficient to alter lazy consumer behaviour. A battery bin next to your food waste bin is the way to change <a href="https://aus.social/tags/consumerbehavior" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#consumerbehavior</a> behaviour.
