So, since @dec_hl nerdsniped me into checking out @marove's Blinkyparts webshop for Solder Things, I had to order a few sweet kits. I just completed this one in a bit over an hour. It's not the most spectacular of the boards, but definitely the most complicated! I'm a tiny bit proud that it works straight away :D

TL;DR: Some European countries use unencrypted and unauthenticated #longwave radio to steer parts of their renewable power, enough to potentially cause a Europe-wide blackout.
The control signals can be sent with just a #Flipper Zero over short distance, or via self-built transmitters over a long distance (e.g. using a kite to lift an antenna wire).
The system is also used for street lamp control, allowing for a scaled-up “Project #Blinkenlights” art installation that transforms an entire city into a screen (for astronauts).
The company operating this system has threatened us with lawsuits and (now publicly) denies the risk.

On one hand, I forgot to enable supports for an overnight print. 
On the other hand, I'm impressed that the machine made the part at all. 
All of the downward facing surfaces are boogered but everything else is fine so I can use it for the last (I hope) prototype. 
Assuming that everything goes well with this first full assembly, today I'll begin production of parts for 1:10 scale Connection Machine 2 miniatures with blinkenlights!

Picked up an early birthday present for myself at VCFMW last weekend: a real, working IMSAI 8080 from 1975
Also got a few other S-100 boards to go in it, including Josh Bensadon’s JAIR board which makes getting up and running with CP/M super easy. But definitely looking forward to toggling in some simple programs by hand

A few days ago, some time after I had told people these Pi's were not running too hot, I burnt my hand (slightly) on one of the ethernet sockets. OK, it's all running far too hot...
I have obtained some more open cluster case parts, with nice little fans, and I shall be rebuilding it all. I think there will still be #Lego to hold it all together, and it really should have #blinkenlights as well....
