Shady JonMy second attempt in the Zojirushi bread maker got very good reviews! Chocolate cake with chocolate chips with a texture somewhere between pound cake and a yeasted loaf. Norcal Gma 2Getting back in the saddle. It feels like I haven't baked goodies in weeks. We have had to make do with the banana bread from the freezer. Today there were bananas screaming to be baked into muffins. I wondered if I had the gumption. I guess I did. It was a treat to enjoy a warm muffin full of melty chocolate chips. Twenty three muffins left for everyone else. Jack DethIt's not the prettiest thing I make, but it's my favorite.Brown Butter Snickerdoodles 😋 Browning the butter gives it a rich caramel flavor that can't be duplicated any other way. HeidiI have a family party today, which means I baked this morning. Lemon cakes are out of the oven. I couldn't stop thinking of the sunny yellow cake- it was not my best, even if it looked pretty. I spent all week searching for a new recipe, and found an interesting one on Sally's Baking. I know her recipes are well tested so I have confidence that it will be good. Shady JonBefore I got sick, part of my weekend ritual was making bread. My standard loaf was an oatmeal bread recipe that I got out of my much beloved 25 year old edition of the Mennonite cookbook, The More With Less Cookbook.Yesterday, my Zojirushi bread machine arrived! I think I'll take it for a spin this weekend, and over time, hopefully learn to adapt our favorite recipe for a bread machine.
