Len<p>I've been playing XWVM today. It's a fan rewrite of 1993's Star Wars: X-Wing, requiring the original to play (there's a version of that available on Steam).</p><p>It's delightful.</p><p>It's still in alpha, and has a few rough edges, but it's extremely playable. Of particular interest to me is that they added VR support. Zooming through the Pilot Proving Ground of my childhood at a million miles an hour, only now I can look around, was a wonderful experience. They've also added two MFDs to the fighters that show the sort of data you got in the various paused screens in Tie Fighter: the map, the mission objectives, damage control, that kind of thing.</p><p>There was an official Star Wars VR game whose name escapes me that I tried a few years ago. I hated it. Too on-rails, fighters too sluggish. What I wanted, really, was this.</p><p>Highly recommended.</p><p><a href="https://www.moddb.com/mods/xwvm" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">moddb.com/mods/xwvm</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/XWVM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XWVM</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/XWing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XWing</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/StarWars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StarWars</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/games" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>games</span></a></p>
