Orange Lantern :verifiedbisexual: I'm trying my hand on a XCOM2 "Ironman" run, meaning only a single autosave and no ability to re-load a botched maneuvre.<br><br>I tend to bond with the little pixel people in my squad and I really try to keep them alive (they even get unique backstories). <br>Every decision actually matters and sometimes you just decide to let an objective fail because it's better to play it safe and bring everyone back to base. Progress in Ironman actually feels like an achievement. I like it. <br><br>I thought it would stress me out more, but it doesn't. Well, I can play XCOM2 drunk and half-asleep on legendary and still ace most missions, so I guess this takes out some of the pressure. But it adds enough that it is exciting again. Ika Makimaki<p>I got <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/XCom2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XCom2</span></a> plus the extra DLC in a steam sale for like 12 bucks a couple of weeks ago and I'm way more into it than I'd like to admit.</p><p>I played the original x-com in the early 2000s and loved it. This one is a bit different but it's got me hooked. It's pretty brutal how a single turn can absolutely wreck your team though. da_667<p>so I'm playing modded <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/XCOM2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>XCOM2</span></a> campaign. I completed the shen's last gift mission and unlocked SPARK robots. I'm using the mechatronic warfare mod where you can choose MEC archetypes. Of course I go full artillery. This motherfucker carries:<br>-3 grenades that fire from a back-mounted grenade launcher<br>-A RAWKET LAWNCHAIR<br>-a massive plasma cannon.</p><p>What's more is that I unlocked a unique plasma cannon with "ultraviolet rounds". It ignores shields from shieldbearers or other psionic bullshit, and does extra damage to psy units. Its a single action cannon, but a lot of the time, I only need the single action. Average damage is 12-15, but I've seen it crit for 30.</p><p>You might think this is overkill, but it requires both actions to fire, so for everyone one turn firing, I have to spend two reloading it Unless I kill something from high ground and trigger death from above. (one action point refund on killing an enemy with a sniper rifle from high ground).</p><p>Its a lot of upkeep, but man does it feel good to watch this thing hit like a fucking truck from squadsight range.</p>
