Already this morning I've had someone from another department jump in to my inbox with a meeting request for 8:30 AM and all it says is "Can we catch up on some things?" So, I have no time to prepare, no idea what they want to discuss, and walk in cold with no chance to be ready to offer any solutions or details. Why are people like this?

I still feel scattered from the weekend, so I wrote down all the things I was thinking about in my journal. There were 32 things - and probably more. My poor overloaded brain. It never rests. Hopefully I can get onto some writing now.#adhd #work

I may have found myself in a conflict of interest.

I was trying to do some research on LA Diner, the place that just hired me as part of an opening crew.

I only found info relating to a diner #elonmusk is trying to open.

It has all the same descriptions - 24 hours, on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood, throwback diner, opening soon.

Could also be a coincidence.

I also may have accidentally taken a job working for someone I've posted 50+ hate videos about.

Washington Post, I know...

But the article is a good description of what farming means & too many Americans are ignorant of how difficult it actually is.

Yes they shot themselves in the foot voting Trump but farmers in the US are exploited by food corporations making billions off their backs while they struggle.

It's no different from our crappy health system and this needs to change.

"Men can tap the power they have accrued and take risks that senior women often can’t, without the risk of hurting their own careers. Senior male leaders should ask themselves, 'How many women do I know? How many women do I trust, spend time with, respect?' she advises. 'All those women that you know and respect, you should be sponsoring.'"

Work Is Not Well-Being project-syndicate.org/commenta
"Policymakers and the development community now confront an urgent choice: either watch the gulf between #work and #wellBeing continue to widen, or revise our approach, so that it focuses not on maximizing employment, but on delivering universal financial well-being
… Effective interventions would include labor policies that ensure adequate incomes and portable benefits even for gig and informal workers; #automaticStabilizers, such as unemployment insurance and child allowances; and accessible, even mandatory, savings programs.
… Critics might argue that decoupling well-being from work would reduce people’s incentive to participate in the labor market. But experience has shown that when people have financial security, they make better employment decisions, invest in education, take entrepreneurial risks, and contribute more productively to the economy. The costs of maintaining the status quo – in the form of lost productivity, higher health-care spending, and emergency crisis responses – dwarf those of investing in universal financial well-being"

When a person breaks a leg, everybody runs to help. When a person breaks a brain, everybody runs away in fear.

For the last few months or so I was getting worse and worse. From the symptoms of vertigo and headaches to insane levels of fatigue. I thought that I'm for sure sick with something very bad.

When a guy who spends his time golfing and never worked a single day of his pathetic life complains about Americans having "too many holidays".

"Nine of the top 10 most productive countries in the OECD in 2015, measured by GDP per hour worked, were in Europe. The United States ranked sixth."

Working on a #restaurant sober is going to be a new experience for me.

Last time I worked in an official front of house role, I was on #drugs as I didn't know I had #tourettes yet and used them to calm my tics down that I didn't know were tics yet.

I have medication that calms them down to a manageable level, but I'll have to learn how to #work around them, and manage stress without a substance to fall back on.

I feel like I'm awake for the first time in a decade.
