Nothing worse than taking it out on a helpless infant. I think that taught me to set it aside—but I think I’m naturally quite calm anyway. He's a Welsh gypsy (Kale) whose bloodline have had to survive day-to-day on their wits for centuries. He's often mistaken for a drug-addled and/or drunken buffoon - lots of fun and a sharp wit, a flamboyant dresser with a big personality, but not "smart" in any conventional sense. However, he's also hyper-aware of the sensitivities and motivations of others, and always has a plan to out-maneuver them.

Lucifer knows her own vices and is at peace with them; she recognizes emotions and does not throw tantrums when something upsets her. this doesn't stop her from making selfish or manipulative choices, however.

Eleanor demonstrates EI by recognizing her emotions, and allowing herself to feel them. but she does have trouble showing anger. there is heavy social pressure to be grateful, even for a family that mistreats her. she will learn to express this anger eventually.

In Book 1 she’s 19; by book 7, now in progress, she’s past 50. Consider that for those first 19 years she spent a lot of time on her own, but since then has had to deal with a lot of people. Why?

I currently only release ebooks. They are easy to produce, distribute in multiple channels, & price reasonably. I lack the funds to do audiobooks properly at the moment, but maybe I'll do that someday. I am dragging my feet on paper books hoping some good soul will start a POD company that offers recycled or treeless paper. I'm debating releasing my next book as blog serial in addition to ebook. Might be fun.
