Peter, clear on OPSEC<p>Ah, they grow up so quick!</p><p>K, my partner-in-crime, who, like me, is an over-60's oldie, was fighting with an old HP laptop; Windoze wasn't letting her log in (The bastard!) and I wanted to claim it for myself. Hey, she already has an Intel laptop, an Apple laptop, an Apple desktop, and an (old) iPad! Ross of Ottawa<p>A bit of time on that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/keycap" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>keycap</span></a> repaint for a large-print keyboard for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/elderly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>elderly</span></a> FiL. </p><p>I stripped the old <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/windoze" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>windoze</span></a> markings off the keycaps, then painted the surface with an acrylic of the same colour.</p><p>I roughly colour-matched a new keycap labels in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Inkscape" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Inkscape</span></a> and printed on paper. I trimmed and mounted.</p><p>Finally coated w crazy-glue aka cyanoacrylate for a hard, durable surface. Trying four or five coats, w heat-gun to speed drying… hopefully not melting the caps which are likely ABS.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/maker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>maker</span></a></p>
