Amelia McNamara<p>Realizing I never did an <a href="https://vis.social/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a>. I'm Amelia McNamara, an assistant professor of statistics. I love <a href="https://vis.social/tags/data" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>data</span></a>, especially non-traditional data like text. I'm an <a href="https://vis.social/tags/RStats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RStats</span></a> nerd to the extreme, and my research focuses on how computer tools can support statistics/data science learning. I love looking at <a href="https://vis.social/tags/DataVis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DataVis</span></a> and wish I got more opportunities to make it, although teaching it is fun, too! My hobbies include repairing my <a href="https://vis.social/tags/Volvo240" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Volvo240</span></a>, <a href="https://vis.social/tags/Darning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Darning</span></a>, and reading speculative fiction.</p>
