#Venmo co-founder launched a memecoin #JELLYJELLY to raise money for a new venture (something something video sharing something something). This kind of thing used to be considered obvious securities fraud but going forward this is how all companies are going to raise money. Why issue shares of stock (which makes you beholden to very annoying regulatory bodies like the #SEC) when you can just launch a #memecoin and make millions instantly without creating any kind of product?

Oh, and it’s pretty obvious #Solana memecoin bros on Twitter with high follower counts are getting tipped off and engaging in insider trading.

All of this is perfectly legal in a post #TrumpCoin era.

Okay, so I just got #Venmo and I'm gonna ask a really old-guy question here.

On #PayPal and #Square, I just set up a bank account and money I receive goes in it. I have the choice to not use that to fund purchases - instead opting for CC.

Do I have that ability on Venmo? I added my CC and my Debit Card. I don't see a place to add incoming bank account...only outgoing one.

✅Click the Gear icon in the upper right corner.
✅Click "Data & Privacy"
Follow the link under that category to "Personalized Shopping"
✅Click the slider switch to disable data sharing with advertisers and retailers based on your purchase history.

@energisch_ @mina @Nickiquote nah, I think restricting #cash is inherently facist, as there are already existing mechanisms re: #AML that make it redundant.

  • As long as #cashless payments ain't as fast, cheap and convenient as cash they'll always be a secondary option.

Not to mention all the #discrimination based off (not having) #access to #PaymentProviders and #PaymentMethods.

There's a reason why #SMSpayment and #Monero are the only ones globally rising as they are fast, convenient and universal, but even they don't replace cash in it's universality.

There were a few days at the beginning when I literally could do no more than sit upright at my desk… and even that took everything out of me.

Oh and one my therapists told me I should tell you all this: she is sending people to my #VENMO and I’m doing pencil sketch pet portraits in exchange for donations! I’ve already done a few, and total strangers have been very generous!

Just like a lot of #US Services have already been unavailable for refusing to comply with laws (i.e. #CashApp & #Venmo don't comply with #KYC & #AML) and a lot of things are banned in the #USA under the veil of "#ConsumerProtection (i.e. #KinderSurprise, unwashed eggs & non-chlorinated chicken despite being scientifically better) ...
