My boss, Jason Zimmerman, was hired October 2016, as the second hire when Alex Kurtzman took over from Bryan Fuller, and has supervised every Trek show since. No department has been consistently working on this generation of Star Trek and knows more about what works and what doesn't. We've been here longer than all the EPs except Alex himself.

A show we've recently worked on has won the German film awards for best VFX! We can't show our best work yet (a bunch of our shots will only be in an accompanying series) and we're not the only post house that worked on it. But here's our reel for "Hagen".
The show is a version of a Nordic/Germanic myth. But this time it's not about the dragon-slaying hero but about the "adult in the room" who tries to keep the kingdom safe and sane.

I animate + mix sdf of a crack texture with texLod() mipmap mixing, a small amount of distance based falloff from the epicenter position + remapped into a customizable hdr gradient to determine the output coloring

Came across this 1990s #Honda Civic Del Sol commercial and it’s absolutely incredible. Watch closely at how the “beach towel” car morphs into a 3D car. Look at the woman’s legs as she swivels them under the windshield, or how the man operates the trunk as the kid bounces the beachball on the hood.
