Nicolas Fressengeas<p>Well... I just discovered that the <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/snap" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>snap</span></a> package that delivers <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Firefox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Firefox</span></a> to <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/Ubuntu2204LTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu2204LTS</span></a> has been broken for a long time. </p><p>It was brought to my eyes because it prevents uploading pictures to <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/pixelfed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pixelfed</span></a>, as well as to <a href="https://fediscience.org/tags/piwigo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>piwigo</span></a>. Other sites are probably affected.</p><p>A workaround is to get rid of snap and install the deb package, as explained here : <a href="https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2022/04/install-firefox-deb-ubuntu-22-04/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2</span><span class="invisible">022/04/install-firefox-deb-ubuntu-22-04/</span></a></p><p>Up not now, I had not much to say about snaps...</p><p>cc <br><span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@pixelfed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>pixelfed</span></a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pixelfed.fr/raph" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>raph</span></a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pixelfed.fr/fresseng" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>fresseng@pixelfed.fr</span></a></span></p>
Tuckers Nuts Resist! 🇺🇦 <p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://infosec.exchange/@Papa" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Papa</span></a></span> <br>🥥 The answer was at this link, Papa.<br>Installing and enabling <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/WirePlumber" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WirePlumber</span></a> as the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>audio</span></a> session manager instantly restored sound in <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Ubuntu2204LTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu2204LTS</span></a>. Thank YOU for your input! <br>PS: This may not work for everyone, but it DID work for me.🥥 <br><a href="https://gist.github.com/the-spyke/2de98b22ff4f978ebf0650c90e82027e?permalink_comment_id=3976215" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gist.github.com/the-spyke/2de9</span><span class="invisible">8b22ff4f978ebf0650c90e82027e?permalink_comment_id=3976215</span></a></p>
Tuckers Nuts Resist! 🇺🇦 <p>🥥 Anyone have or know of a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fediverse</span></a> account that invites questions and discussion of desktop <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a>?<br>One that could perhaps entertain a question about sudden loss of sound output after a routine update of <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Ubuntu2204LTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu2204LTS</span></a>; and where it's NOT the hardware because the sound still works perfectly when booted from a live USB?<br>Asking for a friend. 🥥</p>
