The UN Security Council is soon convening to discuss the implementation of Resolution 2730, which was adopted last year in an attempt to strengthen the protection of humanitarian and UN personnel.

"Humanitarians risk everything to save lives – we must do everything to protect them."

Five UN Security Council nations call on Israel to let aid into Gaza

“To abide by its obligations under international law and to allow and facilitate the safe, unconditional, massive and hand-in-dirt delivery of humanitarian aid at scale, as well as to ensure the protection of civilians and other protected persons, including humanitarian workers in line with international humanitarian law”.

The US should leave #NATO. Close all foreign bases. End all our sanctions. Stop fucking around via the CIA etc. Have no special trade agreements. Disengage from conflicts everywhere. Israel, Ukraine etc. Stop bribing nations via direct foreign aid. Massively downsize defense spending and pay off the debt. Never use our #UNSC veto. Strongly support whatever most of the UN wants, including militarily and giving them any aid to distribute. #uspol

Basically be a good neighbor instead of a bully.

The #UnitedNations #Security Council on Monday adopted a #US drafted resolution on the 3rd anniversary of #Russia's invasion of #Ukraine that takes a neutral position on the conflict as #Trump seeks to *broker peace* [do #Putin’s bidding].

Until now, the 15-member #UNSC has been unable to take any action on the conflict in Ukraine because Russia is a veto power. The US resolution received 10 votes in favor, while France, Britain, Denmark, Greece & Slovenia abstained.

"We urge the UN Security Council and all responsible Member States to demand that Russia cease the torture and ill-treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war and detainees.

Humanitarian and human rights mechanisms must be granted immediate and unrestricted access to ensure humane treatment and safe repatriation.

The repatriation of seriously ill and severely wounded POWs, as mandated by the Geneva Convention, also requires urgent action. While Ukraine has taken all the required steps to establish mixed medical commissions for this purpose, Russia has done nothing, thus demonstrating its disregard for the health and return of its own soldiers.

Russia’s open defiance of international law must end. It’s imperative to ensure accountability for Russia’s crimes and justice for the victims" – Sergiy Kyslytsya at the #UNSC meeting on "Violations of international humanitarian law against Ukrainian POWs and civilian detainees”.
