Is there a way to graph trending hashtags on mastodon/the Fediverse?
What I'm interested in is to graph say my local city of #Adelaide and use that as a bit of an indicator of if #Mastodon usage and engagemement is growing locally in my town
And yes im interested in data across the fediverse or at least across a few selected servers, as I want data beyond just a single instance.
I can see this on my desktop web interface right now.. so Im guessing there *should* be a way.

So the other night, I popped back to check in on my old Twitter account. Nothing new in my alerts. No Likes, RTs, etc. and the suggested tweets were none of my usual topics.
So for spits and giggles, I checked what was trending.
Despite Trump's latest #indictment being on almost every TV channel 24/7, it didn't even come up as a topic in ANY of the Trending lists-- not even under "News" or "Trending in the USA."
Then I manually checked hashtags like #Indictment, #Indicted, #TrumpIndictment, etc and got an ERROR message EVERY TIME. (So I know it wasn't just that the algorithm might have gotten messed up by my not having been back for a bit.)
Apparently, now #ElonMusk is burying news that he doesn't want people to see.
I'm not shocked by this, but I wanted to make sure there was someone documenting his crap.
What’s important, here, is to interact in real conversations and... who cares about “points” received from people that don’t interact?

Are you still searching for the #TrendingTopics that will impose to everyone today’s obligatory #conversation topic?
Are you searching for “people to follow” instead of “people to interact with”?
Are you still planning time-wasting things like hashtag wars instead of doing something real?
Are you searching for emotional and social gratification in the number of retweets you receive?
Are you still judging a post by the number of likes that it received?
Are you still writing #cool posts to obtain likes insted of writing interesting things that stimulate discussion and interaction?
If so, please pay attention: there is still much Twitter inside you! And it takes some time to heal...
