jonny (good kind)<p>We already had the wave of physicists, we are still waiting on the shoe to drop on topologists, but THE WAVE OF CRYPTOGRAPHERS INTO NEUROSCIENCE is the single most promising thing that i can imagine for the discipline. I have been wailing about this for years, but if as a neuroscientist prof you were to go to attend the cryptography 101 seminar at your university, you would be LITERALLY ON FIRE with good ideas and one million obvious experiments that should be done. </p><p>i sorta "give away free research agendas" as a way to survive in academia and the one i wish most someone would pick up on is NEUROSCIENTISTS COLLABORATE WITH CRYPTOGRAPHERS so they would hire me.</p><p>reading <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://social.cryptography.dog/@ansuz" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>ansuz</span></a></span> : <a href="https://social.cryptography.dog/@ansuz/113016394007280267" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">social.cryptography.dog/@ansuz</span><span class="invisible">/113016394007280267</span></a></p><p><a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/neuroscience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>neuroscience</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/cryptography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cryptography</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/interdisciplinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>interdisciplinary</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/transdisciplinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transdisciplinary</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/disciplinesAreFakeAnyway" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>disciplinesAreFakeAnyway</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/ItWouldBeSickToBeInTheNeuroHackerLab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ItWouldBeSickToBeInTheNeuroHackerLab</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/NeuroHackerLab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NeuroHackerLab</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SomeoneWhoIsGoodAtDoingGrantStuffMakeTheNeuroHackerLab" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SomeoneWhoIsGoodAtDoingGrantStuffMakeTheNeuroHackerLab</span></a> <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/ICantDoThatPartButICanDoTheOtherStuff" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ICantDoThatPartButICanDoTheOtherStuff</span></a></p>
Karsten Schmidt<p>Just remembered that I've got a linkhut account (best/closest thing since/to del.icio.us!) and have collected a list of further reading materials for the 3-day "Limits-aware creative computing" workshop I started teaching earlier this week. More will be added over coming days. Sharing here for others interested:</p><p><a href="https://ln.ht/~toxi/ws-hsa-02" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ln.ht/~toxi/ws-hsa-02</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>cc/ <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.coop/@adamgreenfield" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>adamgreenfield</span></a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@danielrothaug" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>danielrothaug</span></a></span></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/PermaComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PermaComputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Transdisciplinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Transdisciplinary</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.thi.ng/tags/Degrowth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Degrowth</span></a></p>
Klimabonus<p>Our work in a research article in Sustainability (MDPI) about Climate Bonus (<a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Klimabonus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Klimabonus</span></a>) has achieved more than 100.000 views after two years! </p><p>So proud that our work on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/climatemitigation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>climatemitigation</span></a> responses well in the scientific community. Christian Gelleri ✅<p>How is <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/transdisciplinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transdisciplinary</span></a> research designed? Based on previous work on real experiments by Gross and others, the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/research" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>research</span></a> path begins with analyzing the boundary conditions and then to bring together people who want to solve a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/transformative" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transformative</span></a> challenge. Together knowlede is generated. In the case of the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Chiemgauer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Chiemgauer</span></a> curency we had a look at the statistics and the current situation. Then we had three open workshops with the result to start a project with an <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/climate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>climate</span></a> incentive.</p>
