ISIS theology is based off a prophetic narrative of jihad against Rome, enduring a counter-attack, after which End Times™ occur.

The #ThirdRome imperial theology is delusional, destructive, and requires building roads of nihilistic annihilation in order to manifest the prophecy.

Indeed, the idea of the Pope and Emperor having a conflicted relationship goes back to medieval #history.

This Pope thinks that the conquerors from #ThirdRome will stop at 2.5 Rome (i.e. Kyiv) before making their way to “Second Rome” of Byzantium / Istanbul / Constantinople.
