Alan Lewis<p>~~~<br>BRENDA LEE<br>"SWEET NOTHIN'S"<br>Mastodon Post</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReYuh1uKDFk" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=ReYuh1uKDF</span><span class="invisible">k</span></a></p><p>Having asked friends for a favorite Brenda Lee song, one selected "All Alone Am I" along with "Sweet Nothin's." "Sweet Nothin's" has been covered by quite a variety of acts, from The Searchers (1963) to the Duke Robillard Band (2019), with the Pete Best Band(!), Burton Cummings, Wanda Jackson, and Diana Ross in between. I guess Brenda got their attention. Brenda did the best version of "Killing Me Softly" I have heard.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw7A08IUNyc" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=vw7A08IUNy</span><span class="invisible">c</span></a></p><p>The Roberta Flack hit has annoying percussion and the Fugees hit has gotten lots of airplay and it has worn out its welcome. Judging from Amazon and Bandcamp searches, evidently Brenda's version is currently not available for purchase. I heard Brenda Lee at the Bangor Fair in Maine and I'll never forget it. It was outdoors in bright sun and she related one of her songs to what rock 'n' roll was like in the 1960s. She is one of the few early 60s stars still with us.</p><p>:</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/1960smusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>1960smusic</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/allaloneami" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>allaloneami</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bangorfair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bangorfair</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bangormaine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bangormaine</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bangorstatefair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bangorstatefair</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/brendalee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>brendalee</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/burtoncummings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>burtoncummings</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/dianaross" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dianaross</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/dukerobillard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dukerobillard</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/fugees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fugees</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/killingmesoftly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>killingmesoftly</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/petebest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>petebest</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/petebestband" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>petebestband</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/rockandroll" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rockandroll</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/sweetnothings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sweetnothings</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/sweetnothins" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sweetnothins</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/searchers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>searchers</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/thefugees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>thefugees</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/thesearchers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>thesearchers</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/wandajackson" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wandajackson</span></a> </p><p>:::<br>~~~</p>
