"Be all you can be", or if it walks, talks, and smells like a Tech-Bro insider situation - well, you know.

US Army creates new "special" Detachment 201: the Executive Innovation Corps "to recruit senior tech executives to serve part-time in the Army Reserve as senior advisors." The new "recruits" magically get the rank of Army Reserve Lt. Colonel. Read Army PR here: army.mil/article-amp/286317/ar

Apparently this is a case of Tech insiders inviting Tech insiders - "I want to wear the uniform. And I have three other guys willing to go with me.’” .... What will these new soldiers actually do? Not clear, but critics suggest this is just rich tech bros cosplaying the real thing.

the fascists are not going to stop at #genocide in #Gaza and #nuclear devastation on #Iran. if attacking Iran does not make Americans rise up, we are doom. the #OPEC #MAGA death cult will continue killing all across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Iran may be the Moby Dick of the #petromafia but the parasitic #techbros will go after anything they can mine for their #AI and #crypto scams.

USA needs a #generalStrike and the end goal is the complete removal of this whole regime

Oh my $DEITY, the "AI" #slop problem...

I do #hobby #electronics. I ran into a problem that I was having difficulty figuring out from the IC manufacturer's datasheet (which is terse, but does contain several example uses / circuits). It felt like I was missing something fundamental about the way it worked, so I searched the web for 3rd-party documentation, tips, tricks, examples of use, etc.

And I got pages and pages and pages of results that were nothing but slop.

Language clearly stolen from the official datasheet and reworded by #AI into not making sense.

Articles that repeat the same point in multiple sentences in multiple sequential paragraphs.

Descriptions that refer to numbered components that do not appear on the shown schematic.

Descriptions of the working of the component that are incredibly obviously incorrect, to the point that anyone who's ever measured the voltage drop across a resistor would say "That can't be right".

Confident declarations of the function of many of the device's (numerous) control pins, which are not only wrong, but sometimes completely the opposite of reality. To the point that if you followed the given instructions, you would very quickly release the #magic #smoke and become sad.

Out of the first ~60 #search results, I saw 2 that were actual humans communicating. And neither of them had a solution, they were only semi-related.

The #web is #broken. Thanks, #SiliconValley #techbros.

More politicization and worse, incipient Silicon Valley takeover of the U.S. military from within. I can hardly quantify my level of revulsion at this mockery of the military under a criminal commander in chief.

Army bringing in big tech executives as lieutenant colonels: The Army is swearing in top tech executives from Meta, OpenAI and Palantir as senior officers to be part-time advisors.

"...the four executives will get up to two weeks of online and face-to-face training at Fort Benning, Georgia on physical fitness, marksmanship and “basic soldier tasks” such as Army customs and courtesies, rank structure and uniform wear. The four will not attend the Army’s full six-week Direct Commissioning Course at Fort Benning, a common but not universal training program for new officers."

“Their swearing-in is just the start of a bigger mission to inspire more tech pros to serve without leaving their careers, showing the next generation how to make a difference in uniform,” the Army said in a release.

I agree with your critique of the tech billionaires’ #adolescent mindset, but I see a contradiction: their so-called #antiState stance coexists with a desire for #domination. It’s not really about rejecting all control—just rejecting collective, democratic control.
Their “anti-state” rhetoric is not about freedom for all, but about removing limits on their own power. They seek domination, not true autonomy.

seems we reached the inflection point i’ve been waiting for decades: that Americans finally understand what "AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC" means.

our decades of calling #GOP #Republicans #neoliberals #evangelicals #MoralMajority #techbros #FederalistSociety and their ilk what they really are ―the many faces of American #fascism ― has paid off.

Indivisible used #nokings as a callback to 1776, but Americans know the enemy is very much American, unlike Germans in 1929.

”Trump has always been open about his plan to destroy the US. Project 2025 gave a road map. … I do think plutocrat donors play a major role, but so do religious fanatics of varying faiths and tech oligarchs who see human beings as disposable. Refuse their vicious logic, think around them, and hold on to your humanity.”
