Frantic 🇬🇧 + 🇪🇺Our social security system is not broken, well not completely. Like the NHS and Social Care it's been used, abused, battered and bruised deliberately and carelessly by successive Governments including the incumbent Starmer Labour one.To save a few pence it looks almost certain that the old trope of the undeserving poor will be served up again to justify making sickness benefits harder to qualify for and possibly less focused on the financial burden that comes from being long term sick.There's better ways of raising money to pay for the current welfare system or dare I say an improved more generous one.
