Preston Maness ☭<p>Samsung, I do not recall consenting to you having a copy of every photo I took with my phone. roteiro<p>Although I'm a big <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Nextcloud" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nextcloud</span></a> fan, the frequent issues around the auto-upload feature of the NC-<a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> app drive me into looking for an alternative for the auto-Backup of my mobile photos. What's a sensible <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a> solution? <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Syncthing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Syncthing</span></a> ? <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Immich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Immich</span></a> ? Something else. Ideally, I'd like to mount that storage as read-only in Nextcloud.</p>

#Syncthing? #Immich? Ganz was anderes? Am besten so, dass man den Fotospeicher noch in der Nextcloud mounten kann zum anschauen, aber halt read-only.

I finally got my hands a little bit wet with Syncthing as a means of syncing both save states and SRAM save files between the devices that run Batocera or a Batocera-based operating system.

In doing so, I also spun up my first Rocky Linux 10 VM at home. Although this could have easily been an app that runs on my NAS with TrueNAS Scale/Community Edition or run as a container, I wanted to spend time to learn some of the differences between Fedora and Alma/Rocky/RHEL and play around with Cockpit.

Here's the customary #introduction: i'm into #C and tolerate C++ on a daily basis at work, i've also used others like java, kotlin, python, PHP, etc and am curious about #COBOL, #AdaLanguage and #erlang.

My dislike of jenkins is only surpassed by my hate of githubactions and everything MS-related. AI is not I, only A. I'm interested in #selfhosted stuff but atm that's a VPS with some sites, which doesn't really count. For now #syncthing is quite useful and #wireguard is on the horizon once i reformat/reinstall my current #gentoo (i'll keep the root #ZFS aproach and am on the fence regarding #XFCE or #KDE), would be interesting to have a barebones #KVM/#QEMU running all the stuff and i digress.
