It seems I might have to break down and buy a few plants from one of the local farms. My lavender and sage plants aren't doing so hot, and I forgot to start tomato plants this year. But I do like giving them some business before the harvest begins (and they have an abundance of veggies -- even in the winter!). They have the best Sun gold tomato plants (I don't bother with big red ones -- too tempting for the hornworms. Not that they don't go after the smaller tomatoes, but I usually notice them before they do much damage).
