john lehet<p>Oh man, spent about 6 hours debugging in <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a>. Some variables were coming up as “not defined” when I tried to run. It seemed like it must be some logic error. PyFlakes was not showing any syntax error.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/Spyder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Spyder</span></a> in Anaconda, on the laptop, and it’s all a bit small and hard to see the precision of indents.</p><p>It turned out that a block of code was 1 space unindented from what it should be, PyFlakes not flagging it, console just said the variables were undefined.</p><p>Maybe <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Sublimetext" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sublimetext</span></a> to write in</p>

I'm finally accepting that my favorite text editor is never coming back. <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/MacOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacOS</span></a> updates in recent years made <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/TextMate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TextMate</span></a> slow and buggy.</p><p>Thanks for all the good times, old buddy!</p><p>I'm taking a test drive of <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/SublimeText" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SublimeText</span></a>. So far that seems to be the closest to TextMate. Any other editors I should consider?</p>

Good morning. I'm a EE working primarily with <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/fpga" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fpga</span></a> devices, primarily in <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/vhdl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vhdl</span></a> (though <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/verilog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>verilog</span></a> if I have to). I currently work creating testing equipment for <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/avionics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>avionics</span></a>. Generally prefer <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/emacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>emacs</span></a> for development though I did write VHDL Mode for <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/sublimetext" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sublimetext</span></a> which works pretty well.</p><p>In regular life I'm a <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/sf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sf</span></a> and <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/fantasy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fantasy</span></a> reader, enjoy walking my <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/dog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dog</span></a>, enjoy raiding and M+ in <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/warcraft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>warcraft</span></a>, enjoy playing Go (<a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/gogame" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gogame</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/baduk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>baduk</span></a>), and other things.</p>
